Dermaplaning
Dermaplaning is a cosmetic treatment that uses a non-surgical scalpel with a surgical and individual, disposable blade to gently remove dead skin cells along with fine, vellus hair from the face, also known as a peach fuzz (until it grows back, of course). It’s also called microplaning or blading. Dermaplaning will not make the vellus hair grow back thicker or coarser.
Dermaplaning helps to make your skin’s surface smooth, youthful, and radiant, helps to give a smooth foundation application, all without having to use harsh exfoliators. And because we are removing all your dead skin cells, skincare products will better penetrate the skin when applied, making them all more effective.
Dermaplaning is safe for most people, with little risk of side effects. This procedure doesn’t require any downtime for recovery, which makes it extremely convenient. By aiming a sterile blade at a 45-degree angle and dragging it slowly across the skin, scar tissue gets improved, dead skin cells and other debris is removed that may be making your skin’s surface look uneven and dull.
Dermaplaning and Microdermabrasion are both exfoliating skin treatments that smooth your skin. While dermaplaning uses a blade’s edge to remove dead skin cells, microdermabrasion “sands down” your skin using an abrasive surface.
It is recommended to receive a dermaplaning treatment every 3-4 weeks.
